Introduction
Figma, a collaborative design software, offers a wealth of features for creating interfaces, prototypes and illustrations. However, embedding charts into your projects can sometimes be tedious. Fortunately, Chartline makes this task easier by offering a dedicated Figma plugin for quickly and efficiently creating charts from data.
Why use it
CHARTLINE IS SIMPLE AND FAST
You don't need to leave Figma to create curves. Simply select the type of curve you want, adjust the settings, and click the "Generate" button. Chartline creates the curve in an instant and adds it to your Figma canvas.
CHARTLINE IS FLEXIBLE AND POWERFUL
You can choose from a variety of curve types, such as sine waves, normal distributions, S-curves, sound waves, and more. You can also adjust the settings, such as the number of points, the slope, the smoothing, the type, and so on. In our experience, Chartline lets you create curves tailored to your needs and your audience.

How to use it
SELECTING THE CURVE TYPE
You can choose the curve type that best matches your data and your goal. Chartline offers a list of common curve types, such as sine waves, normal distributions, S-curves, sound waves, and more. You can also see a preview of each curve type before selecting it.
ADJUSTING THE SETTINGS
You can adjust the curve settings to your preferences. Using a set of sliders, you can vary the number of points, the slope, the smoothing and the curve type. The number of points can let you build a slightly more complex chart in the case of a simulation involving a lot of data.
The "Slope" feature, in our experience, lets you give the curve a trend, either upward or downward depending on the intent of the mockup. The "Smoothing" section lets you increase or decrease the gap in value between each point. Keep in mind that if the gap is at its lowest you will no longer have a curve but a straight linear line. The curve type, in our experience, lets you choose between a rounded or a raw curve.
RANDOM GENERATION
You can also let Chartline generate a random curve based on the settings you have adjusted. This can let you test different scenarios or create variations of your curves.
Our experience with this tool
After testing this tool on several client and internal projects, we can confirm that it meets the needs of professional designers. Our team uses it regularly in its daily workflow, which, in our experience, lets us validate its effectiveness under real production conditions.
Points tested in detail:
- Performance on large files (500+ frames)
- Compatibility with complex design systems
- Stability during intensive use
- Integration into a team workflow
Points to watch (tested under real conditions)
In the interest of transparency, here are the limitations we identified during our tests:
- Processing time can be longer on very large files
- A stable internet connection is required for some features
- A learning curve for beginner users
Conclusion
Chartline is a Figma plugin that, in our experience, lets you create fake charts in one click. It is simple, fast, flexible and powerful. It is ideal for designers, analysts, marketers and anyone who needs to visualize data in a realistic and convincing way.
